Kollel Yom Shishi on Friday February 10th, 2017
We are excited to announce that Rav Hershel Schachter shlit’a, Rosh Yeshiva from RIETS New York and noted speaker has agreed to present a shiur at Kollel Yom Shishi on Friday February 10th, 2016. The shiur will take place in Bet Midrash Torani Leumi, Rechov Asher 1, Bet Shemesh. Rav Schachter’s topic will be “Dina demalchuta Dina does it apply to another country if we live here? Rav Assaf Bednarsh Shlit’a, Sgan Rosh Kollel of YU’s Gruss Kollel Jerusalem, to speak on Thursday January 5th at 8:15pm
We are excited to announce that Rav Assaf Bednarsh Shlit’a, Sgan Rosh Kollel of YU’s Gruss Kollel Jerusalem, has agreed to present the shiur on January 5th. The shiur will take place in Bet Knesset Netzach Menashe in Bet Shemesh. The topic will be “ירושלים לא נתחלקה לשבטים” – “Who Own’s Yerushalyim?”. The shiur will be in English. Large turnout to greet HaRav Asher Weiss Shlit’a
We were fortunate to have a great turnout Tuesday night September 27, 2016 to hear the shiur given by the renowned magid shiur, HaGaon Rav Asher Weiss. Over 100 men and women from across the Bet Shemesh community attended the shiur in Bet Knesset Ohel Yona Menachem. The shiur is available under the shiurim link on this site or on yutorah.org
Rav Asher Weiss Shlita to speak on Tuesday Sept 27th at 8:45pm
We are excited to announce that Rav Asher Weiss shlita, the “Minchat Asher”, has agreed to present the shiur on September 17th. The shiur will take place in Bet Knesset Ohel Yonah Menachem in Bet Shemesh. The topic will be “עניני ימים נוראים ודברי התעוררות”. The shiur will be in hebrew. Marei Mekomot will be provided. The schedule: 8:30pm Maariv followed by shiur at 8:45pm and a Kibbud at 9:45pm.

Over 100 people enjoyed Kollel Yom Shishi on Friday August 12th
Another great program by the Bet Shemesh Community Beit Medrash initiative this morning with more than 100 men and women coming to hear Rav Zvi Sobolofsky and Rav Tanchum Cohen. Special thanks to the Borvick family for sponsoring in commemoration of the 20th yahrzeit of Mr Samuel Z. Cohen – Nisanel Zalman ben Yaakov Hacohen. Incredible turnout for Rav Yona Reiss Shlit’a
On Thursday night August 4th we had the privilege of hosting Rav Yona Reiss, av bet din of the Chicago Rabbinical Council (CRC). The shiur was in memory of Rav Reiss’ father on the occasion of the yahrtzeit. Over 150 people turned out to listen to the shiur entitled “When Politics and Halacha Collide: The Truth about the American Rabbinate, the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and the Validation Process for Jewish Conversions.”

The shiurim will take place in Bet Midrash Torani Leumi, Rechov Asher 1, Bet Shemesh. Rav Sobolofsky’s topic will “Tefillin and Talmud Torah-Missing on Tisha B’Av yet Vehicles for Redemption”. Rav Cohen’s topic will be “Feeling what we are missing: The kedusha of the Beit haMikdash and the uniqueness of the Aron”. The shiurim will be in English. Marei Mekomot will be available. Rav Yona Reiss Shlit’a to speak on August 4th, 2016 at 8:15pm
The Community Beit Medrash Program, of Givat Sharet, Beit Shemesh, is pleased to present an additional special summer time program.
The next shiur will take place at BMTL at 8:15pm, Thursday August 4th, with Rav Yona Reiss shlita, Av Beth Din of the Chicago Rabbinical Council (CRC).

Rav Mayer Lichtenstein Shlit’a shiur in memory of Rav Aharon Lichtenstein zt’l
We are excited to announce that Rav Mayer Lichtenstein shlit’a, morah d’atra of Ohel Yonah Menachem, will present the shiur on Sunday night May 8th. The shiur will take place in Bet Knesset Ohel Yonah Menachem in Bet Shemesh.
The shiur is in commemoration of the first yartzeit of Rav Aharon Lichtenstein zt’l and will be preceeded by a siyum shas mishnayot. The topic of the shiur will be “Reading the 5 Megillot on the Chagim” and will be in hebrew. Marei Mekomot are provided below and will also be provided at the Shiur.

Rav Haim Amsalem Shlit’a to speak on Sunday, April 17th
We are excited to announce that Rav Haim Amsalem shlit’a, noted speaker and writer has agreed to present the shiur on April 17th. The shiur will take place in Bet Knesset Ohel Yonah Menachem in Bet Shemesh. The topic will be “Approaching the Haggadah Via the Prism of Halacha”. The shiur will be in hebrew. Marei Mekomot will be provided. The schedule: 8:00pm preparation for shiur. 8:30pm Maariv followed by shiur at 8:45pm and a Kibbud at 9:45pm.
Rabbi Haim Amsalem is scholar, writer and speaker. He is the author of several sefarim including Zera Israel. He is a former member of the rabbinical council of Shas and served as an MK from 2006 to 2010 with Shas and from 2012 to 2013 with Am Shalem.
