Rav Michael Yammer Shlita to speak on Thursday June 29th at 8:30pm

We are excited to announce that  Rav Michael Yammer shlita, Rosh Yeshivat Shaalvim, has agreed to present the shiur on June 29th. The shiur will take place in Bet Midrash Torani Leumi, Bet Shemesh. The topic will be “Operation Entebbe”
in Halacha – Is it permitted to release captured terrorists or to risk soldiers in order to rescue hostages?” The shiur will be in English.   The schedule:  8:15 pm Maariv. 8:30pm Shiur followed by a Kibbud at 9:30 pm and a 2nd Maariv at 9:30 pm

We are excited to announce that  Rav Uri Shirki shlita, has agreed to present the shiur on April 27th. The shiur will take place in Bet Knesset Feigenson in Nofei Aviv, Bet Shemesh. The topic will be “למה יש חובה לומר הלל עם ברכה בליל יום העצמאות”. The shiur will be in Hebrew.   The schedule:  8:00 pm Shiur followed by a Kibbud at 9:00 pm and a 2nd Maariv at 9:15 pm

We are excited to announce that  Rav Asher Weiss shlita, the “Minchat Asher”, has agreed to present the shiur on April 4th. The shiur will take place in Bet Midrash Torani Leumi (BMTL) in Bet Shemesh. The topic will be “עניני פסח”. The shiur will be in English.  Marei Mekomot will be provided. The schedule:  8:30pm Shiur followed by Maariv at 9:30pm and a Kibbud at 9:45pm.

Kollel Yom Shishi on Friday February 10th, 2017

We are excited to announce that Rav Hershel Schachter shlit’a, Rosh Yeshiva from RIETS New York and noted speaker has agreed to present a shiur at Kollel Yom Shishi on Friday February 10th, 2016. The shiur will take place in Bet Midrash Torani Leumi, Rechov Asher 1, Bet Shemesh. Large turnout to greet HaRav Asher Weiss Shlit’a

We were fortunate to have a great turnout Tuesday night September 27, 2016 to hear the shiur given by the renowned magid shiur,  HaGaon Rav Asher Weiss. Over 100 men and women from across the Bet Shemesh community attended the shiur in Bet Knesset Ohel Yona Menachem. The shiur is available under the shiurim link on this site or on yutorah.org

Over 100 people enjoyed Kollel Yom Shishi on Friday August 12th

Another great program by the Bet Shemesh Community Beit Medrash initiative this morning with more than 100 men and women coming to hear Rav Zvi Sobolofsky and Rav Tanchum Cohen. Special thanks to the Borvick family for sponsoring in commemoration of the 20th yahrzeit of Mr Samuel Z. Cohen – Nisanel Zalman ben Yaakov Hacohen. Special thanks to the entire BS community and the committee for all their help in making this a huge success. Stay tuned for our announcement for our shiurim starting again in Elul.

Incredible turnout for Rav Yona Reiss Shlit’a

On Thursday night August 4th we had the privilege of hosting Rav Yona Reiss,  av bet din of the Chicago Rabbinical Council (CRC). The shiur was in memory of Rav Reiss’ father on the occasion of the yahrtzeit. Over 150 people turned out to listen to the shiur entitled “When Politics and Halacha Collide: The Truth about the American Rabbinate, the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and the Validation Process for Jewish Conversions.”

We are excited to announce that Rav Zvi Sobolofsky shlit’a and Rav Tanchum Cohen Shlit’a, Roshei Yeshiva from RIETS New York and noted speakers have agreed to present shiurim at Kollel Yom Shishi on Friday August 12th, 2016. The shiurim will take place in Bet Midrash Torani Leumi, Rechov Asher 1, Bet Shemesh. Rav Sobolofsky’s topic will “Tefillin and Talmud Torah-Missing on Tisha B’Av yet Vehicles for Redemption”. Rav Cohen’s topic will be “Feeling what we are missing: The kedusha of the Beit haMikdash and the uniqueness of the Aron”. The shiurim will be in English.  Marei Mekomot will be available.
